Hearing loss can become especially noticeable in large or busy spaces. You may hear that someone is speaking, but still struggle to understand their words because of distance, background noise, or the acoustics of the room.

Hearing loop technology can help bridge that gap.

​

A hearing loop is an assistive listening system that works with compatible hearing aids and other hearing devices to deliver sound directly to the listener. Rather than relying entirely on the sound traveling through the room, the system provides a more direct listening signal.

​

This can make it easier to follow a service, presentation, performance, or conversation without working as hard to pick out the important sounds.

How Hearing Loops Work

Hearing loops use a specialized signal that can be picked up by a telecoil, or T-coil, in compatible hearing devices.

​

When you're in a location with a hearing loop, activating the telecoil allows your hearing aids to receive the looped audio. You can then use your hearing aid's controls to adjust your listening experience to your preference.

Hearing loops can be found in a growing number of public spaces. You may encounter them at:
